Classic India From Cochin - Double Occupancy

Classic India from Cochin - Double Occupancy
Your adventure begins with a drive through the commercial capital of the Kerala state, Ernakulam. Next, you're off to Tripunithura to visit the Maharajah's palace. Then it's off to the local market to shop, before seeing Cochin's ornate temples and the ancient Chinese fishing nets left by the court of Kublai Khan. After lunch on your own, you will visit St. Francis Church. Originally built in the Gothic style during the 16th century by the Portuguese, it was spared by the conquering Dutch, but destroyed by the British. The legendary cathedral was rebuilt in 1887, and proclaimed a Basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1984. It remains home to a large collection of Dutch maps, royal weapons, and historical furniture. Take a scenic drive to the airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, make your way to a hotel for a comfortable night's stay.
Following breakfast, you'll be escorted to Agra to visit the astounding Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Tens of thousands of men labored for nearly two decades to erect this testament to love. Visit the Agra Fort, built by Emperor Akbar in 1566, followed by ornate mosques, then turn in for a restful night's sleep at the hotel.
On your third day, after breakfast, you will sight-see through Old and New Delhi. In Old Delhi, visit the Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. And in New Delhi, you'll see Humayun's Tomb, an incredibly beautiful UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drive by the mesmerizing India Gate, the President's Residence, and Parliament House, prior to boarding your flight to Mumbai.
On day 4, you will be collected from the airport and driven through the legendary Gateway of India. Located on the waterfront, this 85 foot basalt structure was erected to commemorate the arrival of England's King George V.
Your next destination is Crawford Market (Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Market), a popular commercial area, built in the Norman and Gothic architectural style. When you're done shopping, you'll venture to famous Chowpatty Beach. This area is a bohemian favorite during the day, but in the evening it awakens with a carnival flare. Pony rides, Ferris wheels, and astrologers offer travelers their goods and services.
Next, you'll visit the world famous Hanging Gardens. These brilliantly manicured gardens rest on the slopes on the Malabar Hill. Their beauty is simply astounding. Then you're off to Dhobi Ghat. The most famous ghat (laundry) is the Saat Rasta near Mahalaxmi Station, where nearly 200 privately owned dhobis and their relatives work in this hereditary industry.
Prior to boarding your return flight to Mumbai, you will have the honor of visiting Mani Bhavan, the museum of Mahatma Gandhi, widely considered the Father of the Nation. Book this grand Cochin tour to make memories of a lifetime.
