Nassau By Open Air Buggy

Offer Image
Find your island vibes with this unique guided island Jeep tour of Nassau highlighting the historical and cultural sights of Fort Fincastle, The Government House, and more!

Nassau by Open Air Buggy

Considered the most amazing island in the Bahamas, Nassau will fulfill your island expectations while you are enjoying a unique guided buggy tour.

Formally known as Charles Town and located on New Providence Island, Nassau was founded in 1670 by British settlers. Because of the island's geographic location, it provides tourists and locals alike with a beautiful harbor and a colorful blend of old world and colonial architecture. Hop in your open-air buggy and let an experienced driver-guide you through several island landmarks and eateries.

Start your island tour adventure by visiting the Historic Downtown of Nassau. There, you will drive back in time to Fort Fincastle, a fort built in 1793 by Lord Dunmore. This fort overlooks the city of Nassau and The Queen's Staircase, also known as the 66 steps. This famous staircase, built between 1793 and 1794, was carved out of solid limestone rock and named in honor of Queen Victoria of The United Kingdom. From there, you will make your way to Nassau's famous Straw Market, where you'll experience first-hand the traditional street market vendors selling beautiful handwoven straw items. Then, hop right back in your ride to experience the picturesque architecture of the Governor General's official residence, The Government House. Be amazed by this incredible original neoclassic structure, built-in 1806 on a hill known as Mount Fitzwilliam.

Continue for a quick detour to the famous Graycliff Hotel and Restaurant. This historical mansion was established in 1740 by a notorious pirate of the Caribbean known by the name of Captain John Howard Graysmith. From there you will make your way to the famous John Watling's Rum Distillery for a highly deserved tasting and a tour of the facility while learning about the exquisite craftsmanship of the distillery process.

Continue to Fort Charlotte and then to Arawak Cay, also known by the locals as "Fish Fry." Here, allow your palate to experience the flavors of traditional comfort food while enjoying the island culture. The tour will end with a full Bahamian lunch and beverage at one of the traditional eateries.

This is a unique way to experience the island, so make sure to book your adventure fast!
