Coastal Kayak Expedition

The seaport city of Ketchikan offers visitors many views and exploring it from the water doesn't disappoint! Meet your local, expert guides and set off for an experience that can only be had in the company of the people that love their Alaska.

Your adventure begins as your guides take you for a stroll along historic Thomas Basin to their waiting boat. From there you will motor off in an intimate setting with personalized attention, enjoying the best views of Ketchikan with a stop by the famous Creek Street

Along the way you will have a chance to grab a photo or two in front of your cruise ship, watch salmon jumping in the Tongass Narrows and glimpse Ketchikan's native heritage at the local totem park. Keep an eye out for a possible whale sighting!

Once at the kayaking location you will be expertly outfitted with all the equipment you will need, given safety instructions and then take to the water in stable, expedition-style tandem kayaks. See this amazing intertidal ecosystem in the only way one should, from paddling and experience the tranquility of the Tongass National Forest coastline where you can reach out and touch Mother Nature. Sea stars, jelly fish and bald eagles to the occasional humpback whale, black bear and killer whales await you as you paddle at your own pace.

Upon return to the expedition vessel you will be greeted with a snack of wild Alaskan smoked salmon and beverages. Relax on your return to Ketchikan and begin to absorb this magical day you have just taken part in on the beautiful waters surrounding this city. Book this 3-hour amazing tour now to experience the wild side of Ketchikan.

Please Note: This tour has a very limited amount of availability and almost always sells out each day. Your kayaking location is dependent on the weather, the tides, and the wildlife.
